This is a picture of our camping kitchen, we have two stoves and also use the fire to help speed things up or add a twist to a meal. You want to make sure you plan your meal so the food needs the most heat goes on first and so on.
Some fun idea(s) using aluminum foil are baked potatoes, corn on the cob and BBQ chicken. The point is have some fun and you might end up with a family recipe or two who knows. This last trip we took I cooked hot dogs on the campfire, I let both my kids try and they thought is was the coolest thing. The taste of the hot dogs was unbelievable considering they were store brand, the smoked flavor was a nice change to a tired old. favorite for lunch.
Depending on if your fire is in a pit,BBQ or park Grill will effect how you can cook your meals, using grates and cast iron cook wear open some options for meals.
A very helpful accessory is a cooking grate, this allows your to use the fire as as normal stove. This increased functionality could speed up certain meals, not to mention allow you to cook real BBQ and enjoy that one of a kind flavor BBQ produces. The all time favorite item to use is a kabob stick, using one if these lets you make some real tasty mixes of meat and vegetables.
Camp Fire
cooking is a very subjective process you can tailor it to suit any style of cooking if your inventive enough, your imagination is truly the only limit you have.
I must point that more than likely use your camping stove for vegetables, rice etc. in conjunction with the campfire. So please work this into your meal plans or dinner will be in many courses tonight.
Many campers make the mistake of not cleaning all their
gear after the meal
just be warned if you choose to do this the clean up in the morning will be very difficult.
You now know that
your camping kitchen helps with campfire cooking
so plan some new or interesting meals and surprise the family when you head to the great outdoors to do some campfire cooking.
